Finally
It's like finally finally you know? Haha
I can't assure that I am a kind person but I always like to donate
Money, books, old clothes and stuffs (still in good condition).................................
Since I was young, my parents had taught me about donations and I just feel that it is a good thing to do
When I donate, I feel happy and satisfied thinking that I can actually help people without the need of really doing anything!
Then as I grow older, I have discovered more and more ways and forms that I can carry out donations which are:
Hair donation and Blood donation
I personally thinks that both of these donations are the easiest among the others
Why?
Because it is something that we have and our body will reproduce them consistently
And also because we won't lose anything and still we can help people who need it
Two birds with one stone right?
Today was actually my third attempt in blood donation
The first time I was underweight
The second time I was told to come again next time too because I took medicine in the past 24 hours
So I know two things for certain if I want to donate my blood:
I must be over 45kg and I cannot fall ill / take medication in the past 24 hours
After that I am waiting forever for my next chance and
TODAY is finally THE DAY!!!
I was really excited from the night before until now hehe
I have finally donated 350ml Type O blood~
I know it's very little but I really hope that helps :D
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following is the whole process of my blood donation session:
This morning I've asked my dad to bring me to the government hospital for blood donation
My dad is a regular blood donor and he said today is just the right day for him to have his next blood donation (I don't know what that meant though . . .) so he said okay to me
When I reached the hospital, I followed my dad to the department which says "Tabung Darah" on the outside. I guess that means Blood Bank maybe?
Anyway, we made our way onto the second floor and let ourselves through the door
A nurse was there and after knowing our intention, the fist thing she asked me was my age
I am already 21
21 kay (Can I actually make the 21 into capital letters? . . .)
People always ask me this question and sometimes I am really fed up you know /.\
Okay, back to the topic
I told her I am already 21 and because I am really very short, so she asked me to weigh my body weight first and luckily I passed xD
Then she asked my dad and I to fill in a form regarding our personal details first before anything else
Our blood was tested on its consistency and my blood was also tested for its type since I was the first time donating my blood
And I am found to be O, which is actually normal because both my parents have Type O blood
After that the doctor did a Q&A session with me, she asked and I answer
The questions are...erm...I can't really remember >< but it's mostly about my health conditions
The Q&A session was short
Later I was asked to go over to the chair and lie on it
The nurse first determine where my vein is before injecting painkiller into my arm
The painkiller was meant to numb my senses as the needle that is used to draw blood out from my arm is quite thick and it will definitely hurt if she straight away insert the thick needle into my arm
Thanks to the one inventing painkillers, I felt nothing when the needle was inserted
Both the doctor and the nurse were very nice and kind
Knowing this is my first blood donation, they keep telling me not to be scared and just relax
I was actually a little bit nervous at first but then I am totally okay with the process
When the packet is finally full, the needle was taken out and I was asked to sit a while longer before leaving to prevent any dizziness
After the donation, I was given a free mineral water, 100plus and also some biscuits as a sign of gratitude from the hospital
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will definitely go again
But it has to be at least 3 months later until I can make my next donation...
